Fact. There are not enough shelters and governments ignore the basic human right to shelter and dignity.

1,368 people will sleep rough on the street across the Gold Coast this year (ABS 2016).

25% increase in the number of people sleeping on the street in the Gold Coast (ABS 2011 vs ABS 2016).

up to 21% of homeless Aussies sleeping on the streets have suffered cold/wet illnesses hypothermia, frostbite or trench foot (MS2H 2011).

In 2019 a homeless man was fined $652 for sleeping in a bus stop in the region. Click here for more.
