2,574 people will sleep rough on the street across Richmond-Tweed in NSW this year (ABS 2016).

36% increase in the number of people sleeping on the street in Richmond-Tweed (ABS 2011 vs ABS 2016).

The Richmond-Tweed area has the highest concentration of homeless people in Australia as well as in New South Wales (ABS 2016).

up to 21% of homeless Aussies sleeping on the streets have suffered cold/wet illnesses hypothermia, frostbite or trench foot (MS2H 2011).

In 2019 a homeless man was fined $652 for sleeping in a bus stop in the region. Click here for more.
