Dignity is a human right

Everyone deserves the Human Right to permanent shelter - BUT the sad reality is over 49,000 Aussies will sleep on the street this year.

49,200 people will sleep rough on the street across Australia this year (ABS 2016).

20% increase in the number of people sleeping on the street across Australia (ABS 2011 vs ABS 2016).

up to 21% of homeless Aussies sleeping on the streets have suffered cold/wet illnesses hypothermia, frostbite or trench foot (MS2H 2011).

Blankets and cardboard can Kill

Blankets.
Fact. You can die sleeping under wet blankets and doonas. Hypothermia kills.

Cardboard.
Not dignified. Provies some ground insulation (not in the rain) and it is difficult to store and carry.

Tents
Tents are not suitable in urban environments, take time to setup/packup and city councils do not want permanent structures erected.
